Isolations
An isolation on it's own isn't really a move but a theme that you can apply to moves, the idea is to move the axis of rotation away from your hand and down the poi, depending on how far you move the axis you can have anything from a normal swing to the poi head staying still and your hand moving in a large circle around it.
The easiest move to learn an isolation with is the buzz saw, if you imagine pushing the pedals of a bike around then you pretty much have it.
Isolations are where we start getting into advanced poi which I'm only really starting to learn so there will be a lot more lessons coming on this once I have learned a few more isolated moves.
